The RMS Queen Mary 2 is named after the parent company's Queen Mary liner. The ship was built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique and is operated by Cunard Line. It has 15 restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre, and a planetarium. At the time she was built QM2 was the longest, widest, tallest and largest passenger ship built. Since then newer ships have overtaken her although the QM2 is still the largest ocean liner. QM2 has 4 diesel engines and 2 extra gas turbine engines used for extra power when required. Freshwater in the ship come from 3 seawater desalination plants aboard.
